Kalau beli kerusi banquet yang baru…
Memang semuanya nampak cantik.
Kain tegang.
Kusyen nampak penuh.
Bila duduk pun rasa empuk.
Pendek kata…
Tak nampak langsung apa yang tak kena.
Sebab tu ramai orang fikir…
“Tak kisahlah beli yang murah. Nampak lebih kurang je.”
Tapi cerita sebenar biasanya bermula…
Beberapa bulan kemudian.
Baru-baru ni ada seorang pelanggan datang jumpa kami.
Bukan nak beli kerusi pertama.
Tapi nak cari pengganti.
Bila tengok gambar yang dia tunjuk, kami terus faham masalahnya.
Masa baru beli…
Kerusi tu memang nampak cantik.
Tapi lepas digunakan beberapa ketika, kusyen mula mendap.
Permukaan tempat duduk mula berkedut.
Bentuk kusyen dah tak cantik macam dulu.
Dari jauh pun dah boleh nampak bezanya.
Padahal rangka besi masih elok.
Yang berubah cuma kusyen.
Tapi keseluruhan kerusi terus nampak macam dah lama digunakan.

Perasan tak?
Kalau kereta, kita selalu tengok enjin.
Kalau telefon, kita tengok spesifikasi.
Tapi bila beli kerusi banquet…
Ramai cuma tengok kain.
Tengok warna.
Tengok harga.
Jarang orang tanya…
“Kusyen dalam dia guna apa?”
Sedangkan itulah bahagian yang menerima tekanan setiap kali orang duduk.
Hari demi hari.
Majlis demi majlis.

Rupanya…
Bukan semua sponge dibuat untuk kerja yang sama.
Ada sponge yang memang sedap masa hari pertama.
Empuk.
Lembut.
Tapi semakin kerap digunakan, semakin cepat hilang bentuk.
Ada pula kusyen jenis PU (Polyurethane).
Masa pertama duduk, mungkin tak selembut sponge yang terlalu lembut.
Tapi selepas ratusan kali digunakan…
Bentuknya masih kekal.
Sebab dia direka untuk tahan, bukan sekadar sedap masa baru keluar kotak.

Kain pun sama.
Ramai fikir kain cuma bagi warna.
Sebenarnya kain yang berkualiti membantu kerusi terus nampak kemas walaupun dah digunakan berkali-kali.
Kalau kain terlalu nipis atau kurang sesuai…
Sedikit kedutan pun dah cukup buat kerusi nampak lusuh.
Sebab tu bila pelanggan tu datang kat Saidina Group…
Kami tak terus cerita pasal harga.
Kami lebih banyak cerita pasal…
“Kerusi ni nak guna berapa lama?”
Kalau untuk majlis sekali-sekala…
Mungkin banyak pilihan.
Tapi kalau kerusi tu keluar masuk lori hampir setiap minggu…
Cerita dia dah lain.

Baru aku faham.
Bukan susah nak buat kerusi nampak cantik pada hari pertama.
Hampir semua pengeluar boleh buat.
Cabaran sebenar ialah…
Macam mana nak pastikan kerusi tu masih nampak cantik selepas majlis yang ke-100.
Mungkin sebab tu ramai orang kecewa.
Bukan sebab mereka tersalah pilih warna.
Tapi sebab mereka tak pernah diberitahu bahawa kualiti sebenar sesebuah kerusi banquet bukan dinilai masa baru sampai… tapi selepas lama digunakan.
